Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 13 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Rev. Andrea Wall will officiate. Private Family interment prior to the service will be in the Bethesda Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Tabitha Hospice. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.Betty Jewel Braun, the daughter of Frank A. and Agatha (Harder) Friesen, was born at O’Neill, on Dec. 21, 1928 and passed away in Aurora, on March 10, 2019, at the age of 90.She grew up on family farms outside of O’Neill and Aurora. Betty graduated from Henderson High School. She worked as telephone operator and at a hotel restaurant in York.Betty was united in marriage to Wilferd J. Braun on Jan. 19, 1951. They had two sons, Stan and Jim and three daughters, Janet, Vicki and Susan. They farmed and raised cattle for 45 years south of Hampton. Betty also worked as a cook at the Leadership Center and as a librarian at the Aurora Public Library. Wilferd passed away on Nov. 22, 2015.Betty enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, crossword puzzles and having coffee with friends. She loved playing the piano and was blessed with a great singing voice. Betty also loved spending time with her 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Stan Braun; and brothers, Ray Friesen, Walt Friesen, Don Friesen and Robert Friesen, brother-in-law, Irvin Braun and sisters-in-law, Martha Friesen and Josephine Gerdes.Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Janet (Bill) Williamson of Omaha, Vicki (Rex) Lamb of Lincoln, Susan (Tom) Wiltfong of Scottsdale, Arizona and Jim (Julie) Braun of Bellevue; 13 grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Royal, Jeff (Darci) Williamson, Kelsi (Dirk) Anderson, Robin Braun, Tim Braun, Jenna (Tim) Sobo, Erin Lamb, Allison (Josh) Simpson...
